Emerge Egress Consulting is a HR Management & Training Consulting Firm established in 2017 based in Nairobi. In essence it focuses in Recruitment, Business & Marketing Strategy and Training Programs for various sectors. We partner with clients in various industries and sectors in order to meet their various needs.

Role Objective:

Our client is seeking a capable Finance Assistant who will support the Finance and Operations department to functions to achieve organizational goals.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify completeness and accuracy of all vouchers, check requests, and employee expense reports
  • Process weekly disbursements
  • Prepare journal entries for accounts payable
  • Reconcile benefit invoices to payroll records
  • Comply with established internal control practices and procedures to ensure proper management of financial transactions
  • Manage all accounting transactions
  • Prepare budget forecasts
  • Prepare and publish financial statements in time
  • Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings and reports.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Ensure timely bank payments
  • Diligently work to avoid exposing client to any financial risks and coordinate with management on any risks articulately and proactively.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Assist in staff management
  • Ensure smooth running of operational activities.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly operations reports.
  • Any other duty as allocated.

Key Competencies

  • Experience using spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills, meet pressing deadlines and anticipate needs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  •  Ability to meet deadlines and coordinate work with others.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills

Job Specifications and Qualifications

  • CPA Advanced Level.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge in Accounting software.
  • Professional certifications are an added advantage.

  • In-depth understanding of events, corporate and media relations and experience in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
