Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Accounts Receivables function, including daily reconciliation and monthly update of ageing report and matching revenue to payment points for the various product revenue categories
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Conducting monthly reconciliation of bank and MPESA accounts on a timely basis
- Update weekly and monthly inflows and outflows records and provide updates
- Prepare and file tax returns and statutory deductions and payments
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements and Management reports
- Maintain a monthly fixed asset registry and perform impairment, and pass journals for the same
- Conduct monthly and annual financial analysis, including budget variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting
- Participate in internal and external audits and provide support to external auditors
- Initiate and supervise stock-checks and reconciliation with the Warehouse Manager
- Participate in financial standards setting and in quarterly and annual budget forecast process and provide input into departments goal setting process
Qualifications:
- BCom Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
- Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA (K) or ACCA)
- At least 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 2 years of handling accounts receivables within the FMCG sector.
- Prior experience in a startup environment is highly desirable, demonstrating adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic setting
- Experience using QuickBooks and other Accounting software, and a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their applications
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and opportunities
- Able to demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to effectively and efficiently handle a variety of responsibilities
